Building a 14.8V Battery Pack With BAK Cells

Updated on 08/03/2025

In this post we are going to show how to build a 14.8V battery pack.

The pack is going to use our favorite cells from BAK. Since the size, voltage, and power of this pack are small, we can use an equally small BMS (Battery Management System) as shown in this picture.

Connecting the cells is straightforward with 2 in parallel and 4 in series (4S2P)

Next step is to solder the connector that will server both discharging and charging via a Deans T-Plug, solder the BMS on to the battery, and wrap the pack with barley paper and Kapton tape to insulate and protect the pack.

To make sure everything works properly we:

We wrap everything with shrinking PVC for additional protection and the battery pack is ready.
